‘GRIM’ and ‘Silent North’ from the Acclaimed Creators of Ghosts of Tabor Reveal New Trailers Ahead of Gamescom

Stake your claim on Mars or survive the Swiss Alps Media get first hands-on with both titles at Gamescom’s ‘The Home of XR’ booth

STOCKHOLM and VENICE, FL, AUGUST 15, 2024 — Stock your ammo and say your prayers, because the masters of VR survival at Combat Waffle Studios have just dropped new trailers for both of their upcoming games. As part of today’s VR Games Showcase, players got their first fresh looks at GRIM (new trailer) and Silent North (new trailer) following their initial announcements late last year.

“It’s incredible how far both of these titles have come in the past few months,” said Scott Albright, Combat Waffle Studios CEO and founder. “If the success of Ghosts of Tabor has taught us anything, it’s that real survival gameplay is in high demand and short supply in VR. With GRIM and Silent North, we’re exploring entirely different approaches from Tabor to make sure there’s a survival game that meets the needs of every player in a VR headset.”

GRIM is a game of survival not just against other players, but against the harsh environment of the red planet. Set on Mars, players in GRIM must gather resources, craft, and build their base – all while defending against other players who are just as eager as they are to gather the materials they need to stay alive. GRIM is expected to launch a public Alpha on both the Meta Quest Store and Steam VR later this year.

Silent North takes multiplayer action to the Swiss Alps, where players will bundle up and hunker down to survive as long as they can in a world overrun by zombies. Players can team up or go it solo while scavenging for gear and defending against a never-ending supply of hungry corpses. Silent North’s mix of PVE and PVP action is expected to launch in early access on both the Meta Quest Store and Steam VR in 2025.

“Partnering with Combat Waffle Studios on the launch of Ghosts of Tabor proved to be an incredible success. The retention in the game and the fan base amassed is unparalleled for a hardcore audience in VR gaming today,” said Maeva Sponbergs, Head of Publishing at Beyond Frames Entertainment. “We’re honored that Combat Waffle have chosen to extend their relationship with us to act as the publishing partner for their next two titles, GRIM and Silent North, and we’re just as eager as their fans are to get the games into the hands of everyone soon.”

Both GRIM and Silent North will be playable for media at Gamescom in The Home of XR megabooth (Hall 2.1, A056 / C055) from August 21 to 23. To learn more, follow Silent North on X, YouTube, and TikTok. GRIM can be found on X, YouTube and TikTok as well.
